Space Strategy Game Brings Intergalactic Commerce and Adventure to Travelers Across the Universe
TEL-AVIV, Israel – Nov 29, 2010 – Corbomite Games today announced the release of a new space strategy game “Star Shipping Inc.” The game is now available for PC, Mac, and in a new HD version available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices through the iTunes store at:
The goal of Star Shipping is to become the richest captain in the galaxy by trading commodities between new and exciting planets, while working for the intergalactic space trading company “Star Shipping Inc.” Since space is unpredictable while traveling to different planets, you’ll encounter multiple types of enemies like space pirates, monsters and other alien lifeforms. You can choose between flying solo or protecting your cargo by hiring defense drones. In-game news at the end of each turn dramatically affects the next turn’s outcome as well as random events that occur during travel will make players think twice before taking chances and increases the fun as the game progresses.
“The reception for Star Shipping has been great so far, and we hope PC and Mac gamers enjoy the gameplay and high production values,” said Oded Sharon, CEO of Corbomite Games. “The new HD version of the game for iPad, iPhone and iPod includes high-resolution graphics, and more content, including new enemies, more random planets, and new ships. We know that Star Shipping fans are going to love the new features.”
About Star Shipping
Star Shipping offers players challenges that doesn’t rely on their ability to hit stuff on the screen, and doesn’t require them to be 100% focused on the game at all times. Instead they can play at their own pace, and use economy planning skills and intellect to trade various commodities between stars and climb up the score ladder as you accomplish your goal of becoming the richest space captain in the galaxy. Star Shipping includes an in-game store where you can buy upgrades to your ship in order to increase performance and get higher scores, a bank where you can keep your savings and where you can loan cash in times of need, scoring and ranking systems, leader boards, achievements, and challenges.
In the high resolution version of the game there is significantly more content, and players will see an improved version of the beautiful space backdrops, planets, aliens, nebulae, space ships, items and characters. The game also includes unique features for each platform, for example, the accelerometer is used on the iPhone and iPad, and the mouse is used on PC and Mac.

There seems to be a bug (in the Mac version, at least) because when I start a new game, it does not remember which ship and upgrades I had purchased the last time, but it only gives me the Space Chips that I earned from the last game.
For example, in the very first game, I get 20 Chips to rent a ship, so I use 10 to buy a Moth, and 10 more to upgrade my cargo space. I finish the game with 7000 or so points, so I get 7 Chips. But when I start a new game, I have ONLY 7 Chips, not the Moth with the upgrade, and I can only afford to rent the Sparrow now with no upgrades.
Do you see the problem? Either the game should remember what you had when you finished the last game (ships, upgrades, and chips) or it should give you the equivalent amount of chips back to cover the worth of your ship, upgrades, and chips.
Also, it would be nice to have a way to have different user profiles, so that if someone else in my house decides to play, they won’t be using my ship (assuming you fix the problem I described above, that is!).
